About Gregory
Nature and travel have always held a special place in my spirit. Having been born in eastern Kentucky, the love of the mountains and their history continues to draw me back. Growing up in Ohio on a farm, we lived close to the land. My brothers and I would spend hours wandering the woods and fields behind our home.
Tranquility to me, as a young man, included walks alone in the forests. Experiencing trails under the towering trees, leaves rustling in the wind, birds serenading and animals scurrying in the underbrush gave me peace. This sparked the desire to capture nature on film.
Coming to Florida in 1989, the world of coastal habitat opened new avenues of adventure. Further exploration lead to the interior of Florida. Cypress trees, Spanish moss, wetlands and clear water springs that were so unique are not usually experienced by visitors to the state.
Travel has also been an important part of my life and has led to visits to various locations in this country and abroad.
All of these experiences have contributed to my art work.
